Due to personal problems Valiance Rats will only be breeding one or two litters a year. We are still happy to receive visitors and requests for kittens but please expect rather a long wait.

Valiance Rats was born out of a pure and simple love of rats. Everything about them captivates us and all we have ever wanted to do is enjoy, love and support these darling wee beasties!

We firmly believe that helping rats as a pet species requires breeding towards improved health and temperament and helping to support those bred irresponsibly. This is why we are heavily involved in both the breeding aspect of rats and rescuing those in need too.

Our breeding aims are high, we are hoping to breed rats with excellent temperaments, that live long healthy lives and are also beautiful to look at.

The temperament we will be aiming for is a glorious cheekiness with a gentle naughty streak. Rats that actively seek human company and revel in attention. We want rats that race to see you and entertain you with their clowning.

We are hoping to push the boundaries of 'about two years', which is the pet rats current expected lifespan. This is a complicated thing to select for in a breeding line and involves a multi-pronged strategy. For more details read our breeding information.

We expect to see the varieties agouti, black, american cinnamon, american mink, russian blue agouti and russian blue. Occasionally siamese, champagne, silver fawn, buff, topaz, dove agouti and dove. Some kittens will have the essex marking. We may have dumbo kittens available but there is no chance rex kittens, therefore we recommend that if you specifically want rex rats that you contact a rex breeder, we can point you in the direction of them if you require. Valiance is not a stud name, but a registered NFRS prefix that we use to identify our rattery and the rats we breed.

Perhaps our aims are idealistic, but if we aim for heaven maybe we'll hit a star.
